Nine Republicans on the main CNN debate stage in Las Vegas sparred for two hours on Tuesday night over an array of issues, differing over how best to defend the United States from terrorist attacks and which GOP hopeful would be the best to take up that mantle as President.

On the eve of the fifth Republican debate, Donald Trump drew loud cheers from several thousand supporters at a Vegas rally, as the GOP frontrunner predicted that he would again be the target of his opponents.

“They’re all coming after me,” Trump said at a raucous rally that took place in the same room where Leon Spinks defeated Muhammad Ali in 1978.

But Trump said there would be no upset in this debate.

“So far, everyone who has attacked me has gone down the tubes,” Trump said.

With two new polls over the weekend showing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) leading the Republican race in Iowa, Donald Trump for the first time moved to rebuff his GOP rival, labeling him a “little bit of a maniac” and raising questions about whether Cruz should even be Commander-in-Chief, as the Texas Senator becomes a major threat to Trump’s drive for the Republican nomination.
