Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden said his vice presidential vetting committee is screening “more than a dozen women” as potential running mates. The Senate’s secretary rejected Biden’s request to release a 1990s complaint filed by ex-staffer Tara Reade, who accused Biden of sexual assault. Biden has denied the assault allegation.
Biden said he expects his vice presidential vetting to be completed by July. Democrats have pushed back their national convention from July to August due to the coronavirus pandemic, though it’s unclear what that will look like in an era of social distancing.
